Welcome!

Kushxeet yóo x̱at duwasáakw.

Photo of Sienna My name is Kushxeet, an old Point House name which translates to "Raven the Artist." My English name is Sienna Reid. I am Tlingit: X'aaka Hit, Kiks.ádi of Sheet'ká. I am a resource protector, graphic artist, beader, and aspiring carver residing on Lingít Aaní. I strive to create inclusive contemporary Indigenous art for all, while ensuring our precious coastal lifestyle is sustained for generations to come.

I was born, raised, and currently reside on my homelands of Sheet'ká Ḵwáan Territory: a temperate rainforest in Southeast Alaska.

I designed this website myself, gunalchéesh for checking it out!

What I do

Please read this first!

By day, I work in the field of Indigenous resource management for the Sitka Tribe of Alaska. I am working to create and implement projects to protect native plants, preserve Tlingit plant knowledge, and enhance customary food, medicine, and material security. I partner with city, state, and federal agencies; as well as local schools and community organizations to support the wellbeing of Sitka Tribal Citizens.

Outside the office I build connection with our lands and waters through harvesting, observation, and the creation of art!
